Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in sheet metal design and enclosure development. The candidate will be responsible for designing robust, manufacturable enclosures for industrial applications such as battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical panels, and outdoor cabinets.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop sheet metal components and enclosures using CAD tools.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Manufacturing).
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and fitment validation.
• Material and coating selection (GI, CRCA, Aluminum, SS, Powder Coating, Galvanization).
• Support prototype development, fabrication, and testing.
• Prepare BOM and documentation.
• Resolve design issues during fabrication and production.
• Ensure compliance with IP rating, UL, IEC standards.

Required Skills
• Sheet metal design: bending, K-factor, bend allowance/deduction.
• Welding methods: MIG, TIG, Spot welding.
• CAD tools: SolidWorks.
• GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Manufacturing processes: laser cutting, CNC bending, punching.
• Outdoor enclosure design knowledge.
• Basic thermal management understanding.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in BESS, electrical enclosures, or industrial cabinets.
